GRANITE FALLS -- A second-half rally gave Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City the West Central South Conference girls basketball title alone by edging Yellow Medicine East 39-36 Tuesday.
YME (6-8, 9-10) led 36-35 before Lauren Kinzler made two free throws with 45 seconds left to put ACGC up 37-36. Katie Knisley added two more free throws with .9 seconds left to seal the win.
Miranda Hopp paced the Falcons (14-0, 16-3) with 10 points while Kinzler followed with nine. Katie Knisley pulled down nine rebounds and Hopp also had seven steals.
Angie Scheffler paced a balanced attack for Yellow Medicine East with 10 points and five rebounds. Emily Baker added eight rebounds and five rebounds while Aimee Johnson and Steph Larson both pocketed four steals.
