Amateur baseball: Atwater Chuckers edge Bird Island Bullfrogs

Atwater scores five runs in the sixth inning to earn the road victory.

BIRD ISLAND — A five-run sixth inning helped Atwater rally to beat Bird Island 7-6 late Wednesday in an exhibition amateur baseball game.

Three Chuckers had three hits. Josh Kingery went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs. Jordan Olson was 3-for-5 with a double, a home run and four RBIs. Jack Peterson also was 3-for-5 for Atwater.

For Bird Island, Aidan Elfering was 3-for-4 with a double, a run and two RBIs.

Chris Fellows got the pitching win, going seven innings. He struck out four and walked one, allowing 13 hits.
