MILROY -- A five-run sixth inning helped spur Milroy past Willmar in Cornbelt South League amateur baseball action Sunday.
The Yankees (2-0, 3-1) led 2-1 entering the bottom of the sixth. The first seven batters reached base, the first two on walks, then Milroy had five straight hits. Nathan Deutz hit a two-run single, followed by RBI singles from Dave Schmidt and Dean Zwach.
The Rails (0-1, 0-1) responded with two runs in the seventh. Cody Scott walked and stole second, then scored on Matt Sagedahl's single. Sagedahl crossed the plate on an error.
In the ninth, Willmar scored when Josh Dahlke took a bases-loaded walk, but Milroy reliever Austin Deutz got the last three outs.
Zwach and Christopher Eichten had three hits each for the Yankees. Schmidt and Ben Dolan added two hits each.

Sagedahl and Dahlke paced the Rails with three hits apiece. Lane Kleist followed with two hits.

Mike Jeseritz, Jordan Smith and Ben Ruter each drove in a pair of runs as the Rockets shot past Granite Falls at Richter Field on Sunday.

Nate Hebrink pitched the first four innings allowing five hits and one run. Tom DeBoer threw the final five to get the win.
Kilowatt starter Nick Richter left in the third inning. Curt Kvam threw two innings and Andrew Walters the final five.

New London-Spicer pitcher Ben Kulset got off to a rocky start but quickly throttled back Paynesville on Sunday afternoon in the Twins' third win of the new Cornbelt season.
The Pirates got all three of their runs in the first frame, a sum that was matched by the Twins in the lower half of the inning.
Kulset gave up four hits and one earned run over eight innings. At the plate, he went 4-for-5 with three RBI. Mike Danielson was 3-for-4, also with three RBI. He pitched the ninth.
Doug Fuchs had two hits for Paynesville. Pirates starter Shannon Olmschied left in the second inning as NLS piled up all its runs in the first four innings.

Austen Hadley broke a 1-1 tie in the sixth inning with an RBI single for the Eagles (2-1, 3-1). Chris Beier, who hit a two-out double, scored the run.
Josh Cunningham doubled and drove in the the only run for the Chuckers (0-3, 0-3).
Beier pitched the first six innings for the win. He allowed one run on six hits, struck out five and walked two. Hadley threw the final three innings for the save.

The Lakers cruised into the eighth inning with a 3-0 lead where 11 runs were scored.
The Stars got a quick four to take the lead. Norway Lake-Sunburg starter Chris Braaten gave up the first two and was relieved by Grant Johnson. Mike VanOverbeke drove in two runs with the second of his two doubles to put the Stars ahead, 4-3.
The Lakers (2-1) answered with seven runs in their half of the frame, helped by walks and hit batters. Jordan Johnson, who was 3-for-5, and Braaten supplied RBI hits in the outburst that came against relievers Nick Sutton and then Joe Heidelberger.
Grant Johnson got the win in relief of Braaten, who took a shutout into the eighth.
