GRANITE FALLS - A four-run seventh inning pushed the Kilowatts past Dawson 5-3 Wednesday as the Granite Falls picked up its first win.
Tyler Dammann opened the Granite Falls (1-1) eighth by reaching on an error and after a walk Craig Listul doubled in Dammann to tie the game at 2-2. The Kilowatts then pulled ahead on Jake Suter’s RBI groundout before Aaron Zieske and Kingsley Richter hit back-to-back RBI singles.
The Drakes pulled within two by scoring in the eighth, but they left runners on second and third, and were sent down 1-2-3 in the ninth on three strikeouts from Tyler Kanten.
Adam Brewers worked the first six innings, striking out eight and giving up just two hits and one walk, to get the win. Kanten’s three-inning performance that featured seven strikeouts earned him a save.
