COLD SPRING -- The New London-Spicer Twins' run in the Class C state amateur baseball tournament ended with a 6-0 loss to Plato in the third round on Saturday.
Plato draftee Tony Kley, of Winsted, was stellar on the mound, working eight innings and allowing five hits, a walk and striking out 10. Another draftee, Dylan McCormick of Brownton, pitched a perfect ninth, striking out two.
The Bluejays' Tyler Lang was 3-for-4 with a double and a run batted in. He also scored twice. Ben Slater was 2-for-4 and also drove in a run.
NLS' Andrew Bangen was 2-for-3 and Mike Danielson, Jake Rambow and Scott Rambow had the Twins' other hits. Twins draftee Brad Mergen, of Farming, took the loss.
