ATWATER - Two days after getting 10-runned at Raymond, the Atwater Chuckers K’od the Starbuck Stars in eight innings at Kingery Field on Sunday afternoon, 10-0.

In common with both games was the slugging of Chuckers backstop JaColby Anderson. In his first two at bats facing the Stars’ Cory Holten, the South Dakota native smashed home runs to centerfield, the second clearing the new scoreboard that is a couple stories high. Later he would add a double and a single. At Lilleberg field he had homered and doubled in a 13-3 loss to the Rockets.

The Willmar High School teacher and girls hockey coach who played baseball at Ridgewater College under Dwight Kotila, now has 5 dingers on the season.

The Chuckers posted 15 hits, three by Jeff Peterson.

Pitcher Michael Melvin’s eight-hit shutout included a single walk and four Ks. He got help from his infield in the second inning with a double-plays initiated by third-baseman B.J. Kingery and in the third during a bases-loaded, no-out jam started by Anderson.

Mike Andreas had three hits for the Stars.
