Amateur baseball roundup: A’s withstand Rockets’ surge

After the A’s went up 10-3 with six in the seventh and two more in the eighth, Raymond rolled back-to-back 3s to make close.

The two sides combined for seven dingers.

Tom DeBoer pitched into the seventh and took the loss.

The Rockets are off until Friday when they play at Atwater at Kingery Field. They then play Saturday at Sacred Heart.

Foley’s Camron Jurer was tough on the Blues, working a complete game and surrendering just one sixth-inning run in a victory Sunday at Optimist Park in Litchfield.

Foley’s Rick Rasmussen drove in three runs, two on a ninth-inning home run off Kaleb Kalkbrenner, who took the loss.

The Eagles improved to 5-1 in the County Line League and 7-1 overall with a victory on Sunday.

Jordan Beier drove in a pair of runs and Shane Rademacher, Austin Hadley and Tyler Cebulla also drove in runs.

The Eagles play a doubleheader at Dumont on Saturday in Wheaton, then travel to Green Lake Diamond to play New London-Spicer at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
