ATWATER - Atwater trailed by one in the fifth inning but broke open the game with five runs, then tacked on four more in the later innings to overwhelm New London-Spicer 10-3 in the County Line League championship game on Sunday at Kingery Field.
Josh Cunningham was 4-for-4, drove in two runs and scored twice, and Matt Tanner had a hit and drove in three runs.
Jeff Peterson was 3-for-4 and scored twice, and Mike Walsh had a hit and drove in two runs. Jordan Olson had two hits and scored a run.
New London-Spicer’s Kevin Soine was 3-for-4 and Jake Rambow had two hits, including a double.
Atwater opens the Region 15C tournament against New Munich at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Roscoe.

Andrew Bangen drove in the go-ahead run with a two-out triple in the bottom of the eighth as the Twins advanced to the County Line championship game on Sunday.

Mike Danielson singled with two outs to keep the inning alive and Bangen, with a full count, tripled to right-center field.
Ben Kulset gave up a hit but the Twins turned a double play in the ninth to end the game and get the save.
Bangen was 2-for-3 and Kulset was 2-for-4. Jake Rambow was 2-for-4 and drove in two runs and Kevin Soine had two hits and drove in a run.
Regal’s Jordan Beier was 3-for-4 and Austen Hadley was 2-for-5 and drove in two runs.
Twins starter Patrick Courtney worked around 11 hits and seven walks to pick up the victory.

Nathan Meyer worked 8-1/3 innings and allowed just one earned run in the Eagles’ County Line League playoff victory over Norway Lake-Sunburg on Saturday.
Meyer didn’t allow a run until the ninth inning, and Shane Rademacher relieved and got the final two outs to pick up the save.
Meyer was 2-for-3 and scored a run, Andy Hadley drove in two runs, and Austin Kampsen also had an RBI.
NLS’ Justin Schmidt was 1-for-4 and drove in the Lakers’ only run. Chris Braaten took a tough loss, working eight innings and allowing three runs.

Tyler Knott was solid on the mound and Justin Koenen and Calvin Kosminskas both drove in runs as Raymond won a Region 11C play-in game on Saturday in Bird Island.
Knott worked 6-1/3 innings, allowing two runs and striking out four.
After reliever Zach Nelson left with an injury, Kosminskas allowed just an unearned run over the final two innings to earn the save.
Koenen, Kosminskas and Austin Smith all were 2-for-4.
Raymond advances to face Luxemburg at 11 a.m. Saturday in Bird Island.

Tom Lippert doubled in the go-ahead run in the top of the 11th inning and Jeremy Hinderks capped his pitching gem in the bottom of the inning in a Region 11C playoff game Saturday in Bird Island.
Mitch Treml reached in the 11th on an error and Matt Koenen sacrificed him to second before Lippert doubled in left-center field.
Hinderks worked all 11 innings, allowing two earned runs on six hits and just two walks while striking out 11.
Nate Hebrink also drove in a run and Treml had a hit and scored two runs.
The Saints take on Kimball on Saturday at 4 p.m. in Bird Island.

Foley struck for five innings in the second inning and Mike Beier throttled the Blues in the final seven innings Saturday at Optimist Park in Litchfield.
Litchfield committed four errors, and all five runs in the second were unearned.
The Blues ended their season 16-15 overall. Foley advances to the Region 1C playoffs.
Beier scattered 10 hits, allowing just two earned run and struck out nine.
Litchfield’s Jake Johnson was 3-for-4 and Jake Schultz had two hits and drove in a run.
