BIRD ISLAND - Elliot Serbus hit for the cycle and three Bird Island pitchers combined to hold Willmar to just one hit as the Bullfrogs collected an 11-0 win Wednesday in a Cornbelt League game.
Serbus singled in a run in the second inning, slugged a two-run homer in the third, doubled to lead off the fifth and legged out a two-run triple in the sixth. The four hits from the center fielder helped Bird Island (4-3, 8-3) end the game 2½ innings early.
Bullfrogs starter Jesse Bjur tossed three hitless innings to pick up the win. Dylan Gass worked the fourth and fifth, striking out five along the way, and Shawn Dollerschell struck out two in the seventh to preserve the shutout.
Gass also supplied a two-run single, Mark Neubauer an RBI triple, Ben Maiers a run-producing double and Tyler Hebrink two singles for the Bullfrogs.
Tanner Thunstedt singled to lead off the sixth to pick up Willmar’s lone hit. Bird Island faced just one batter over the minimum.

The Yankees improved to 8-1 in the Cornbelt and 10-2 overall after getting a solid performance on the mound from Nathan Deutz. The veteran left-hander struck out eight and scattered seven hits in his complete-game performance.
Granite Falls got its lone run in the ninth after Aaron Zieske singled, moved to second on an error and later scored on Dylan Lindstrom’s two-out single.

A 1-0 Milroy lead turned into a five-run advantage after the Yankees scored four times in the sixth, highlighted by Austin Deutz’s two-run single and an RBI single from Dean Zwach.

Scott Rambow and Jake Rambow had three hits each and Ben Kulset pitched seven effective innings to help give the New London-Spicer Twins the non-league win.
Jake scored three times and also drove in three runs while Scott doubled twice, scored twice and drove in a run. Nine Twins combined to collect 15 hits, five of which were doubles.
