Amateur Baseball Roundup: Kramer, Dollerschell blast away in Bird Island win

BIRD ISLAND - Riley Kramer hit a grand slam and Shawn Dollerschell homered twice as Bird Island blasted Raymond 13-5 in the Cornbelt playoffs on Wednesday.
The Bullfrogs jumped on Raymond starter John Sawatzky right away with three first-inning runs.
Kramer’s blast came in the third to make it 7-5, and Dollerschell added on with solo shots in the fourth and sixth innings.
Dylan Gass pitched 5.2 innings of no-hit relief, striking out six, to earn the win.
Elliot Serbus had a hit and two RBIs, and Trent Athmann and Tyler Hebrink each had two hits.
Raymond scored all five of its runs in the third, keyed by a three-run homer from Calvin Kosminskas.
The Rockets will face Sacred Heart on Sunday in Raymond, and Bird Island will face the winner of that game on July 29.

Jeremy Hinderks tossed a four-hit shutout, and doubled and scored a run to lead the Saints over Granite Falls in the Cornbelt League playoffs Wednesday.
Mike Nelson doubled to drive in the game’s first run in the fourth following Hinderks’ leadoff double.
Nelson scored in the seventh after a single, error and Nate Hebrink RBI base hit.
Hinderks walked two and struck out nine.
Granite Falls’ starter Adam Brewers nearly matched him, also striking out nine, walking one and allowing one earned run.
