Amateur Baseball: Sawatzky wins pitchers’ duel as Rockets down Bullfrogs

BIRD ISLAND - John Sawatzky outlasted Jesse Bjur in a stellar pitchers’ duel as Raymond downed Bird Island 3-1 in a Cornbelt League game on Sunday.
Sawatzky allowed four hits and struck out seven in the seven inning game.
Bjur was solid, as well, allowing six hits, two earned runs while striking out six.
Raymond’s Tyler Steen and Justin Koenen both had two hits and drove in runs, and Mike Jeseritz had the Rockets’ other RB I.
The Bullfrogs’ Tyler Hebrink was 2-for-3.

The teams combined for 33 hits and the game’s five pitchers issued 18 walks.
Bird Island’s Logan Sandgren had three hits, including a home run, and drove in three runs, and Trevor Nissen also had three hits and drove in three.
