LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The Los Angeles Dodgers are close to signing reliever Matt Guerrier.
A person with knowledge of the deal confirmed Wednesday to The Associated Press that Guerrier will sign a three-year contract. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because Guerrier must still take a physical on Thursday, when the Dodgers could announce the deal.
The 32-year-old right-hander has spent his entire career with the Minnesota Twins. He had a 3.17 ERA in 74 games last season. Guerrier was even better in 2009, with a 2.36 ERA in 79 games, which led the American League.
Guerrier has a 3.38 ERA during seven seasons in the majors. He's appeared in at least 73 games in each of the last four years.
The Twins declined to offer arbitration to Guerrier.
