Warriors drop four
A rough three-day stretch ended with the Ridgewater baseball team dropping its sixth-consecutive game.
The first game Saturday was a disaster for the Warriors, who surrendered 10 runs in the first inning of a 14-3 loss at Anoka-Ramsey.
Making matters worse was that just two of those 10 runs were earned.
Pitching and defense was much stronger in the second game, but the offense struggled in a 3-1 loss.
Diego Martiarena and Braxton Smith opened the game with singles and Martiarena scored on a Cooper Lamke RBI.
The Warriors mustered just one hit the rest of the game.
Sunday didn’t go much better, as Ridgewater suffered 9-3 and 10-0 losses at Fergus Falls.
The Warriors mustered just one hit and surrendered nine runs in the fourth inning of the second game.
It was the third straight day Ridgewater was swept in a doubleheader, losing the six games by a combined 56-7.
The Warriors close the regular season Wednesday, with home game against Central Lakes.
