Area Baseball: Lange, Linn duel in EVW Legion’s win

WATKINS - The Eden Valley-Watkins Legion team scored the game’s only runs on a passed ball and a suicide squeeze in a 2-0 victory over Hector on Tuesday.
Hector pitcher Tate Lange and EVW winner Logan Linn were front and center throughout the game.
Lange allowed just one hit - by Linn - and was victimed by the mistakes in the fifth and sixth innings.
Linn worked a complete game and also allowed just one hit - by Lange - and he struck out 12.
Tate fanned seven and allowed just one walk in six innings.
Hector plays Tri-Town at 7 p.m. Thursday in Atwater.

Tyler Steen ended the non-league game Tuesday when his two-out bases-loaded hit in the ninth inning sailed to the fence in left-center, allowing Zach Nelson to score.
Steen finished 4-for-6 while Mike Jeseritz supplied the Rockets (14-7) three doubles and John Sawatzky three singles as Raymond cranked out 19 hits.
