Lakers beat Benson/KMS 6-1 in conference tournament finals

BENSON — The Minnewaska boys tennis team locked up the West Central Conference on Saturday, beating host Benson/Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg in the finals at Benson.

The Lakers’ Tenzin Dahl swept Matthew Thompson at No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Tate Reichmann and Ethan Quelle won by identical 6-1, 6-0 scores at No. 1 and 3 singles.

In a tight match at No. 2 doubles, the Lakers’ combo of Logan Maanum and Aiden Maanum beat the Sting’s Austin Canatsey and Ryan Syring, 6-3, 5-7, 10-8.
