KERKHOVEN — The Minneota volleyball team remained undefeated with a 3-0 victory over Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg on Monday.
The Vikings beat the Fighting Saints 25-11, 25-13, 25-16.
Minneota is 4-0 in the Camden Conference. KMS fell to 3-3.
The Fighting Saints were led by Lauren Krieger, who had seven kills and eight digs. Makenna Kelley contributed four kills and three blocks Grace Collins had 18 set assists.
KMS is scheduled to play at 7:15 p.m. Thursday against Renville County West in Renville.

Golden Gloves
Willmar starting practice
The Willmar Golden Gloves Boxing team has its first practice set for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4 at the Willmar City Auditorium stage.
Training and conditioning will be helped every Monday and Wednesday evening through April.
A parental consent form must be signed. There is an $80 registration fee. Two photographs of your face above the shoulders and a copy of your birth certificate is required.
Participants are expected to be ready to go at 7 p.m. sharp and have appropriate athletic shoes, a mouthpiece and workout clothes.

Awards
Velasquez honored
Willmar boys soccer junior defender Jorge Zelaya Velasquez was named second-team All-State in Class A by the Minnesota State High School Soccer Coaches Association.
With Velasquez helping lead the defense, the Cardinals held teams to 1.8 goals per game while compiling a 7-6 record.
Velasquez is the first Willmar player to earn All-State honors since 2017, when defender Gerson Maldonado Garcia was first team All-State and a finalist for the boys Class A Mr. Soccer Award.
The MSHSSCA will host a digital banquet at noon Saturday to honor the All-State teams.
