WILLMAR - After postponing opening night three times in a soggy month, the KRA Speedway pulled the curtain for a night of racing at the Kandiyohi County Fairground’s 3/8th-mile oval in ideal weather Thursday.
There were 74 entries in seven classes led by Super Stock with 14 and Midwest Mod with 13.
Tim Johnson of Brainerd was a double winner in Street Stock and Supers. Track regular Shane Sabraski of Rice won Modified and placed runner-up in both Midwest and Super.
The track announced this week that next Thursday, WCCO-TV news anchor Frank Vascellaro and chief meteorologist Chris Shaffer will be at KRA taping as part of the “Goin’ to the Lake” series. They also will get a chance to drive a race car.
