WILLMAR - A nightmare ninth inning for Waterloo was Willmar's sweet dream as the Stingers rallied for two runs in the bottom of the inning to defeat the Bucks 4-3 on Friday night at Bill Taunton Stadium.

The Bucks led 3-2 after 8-1/2 innings, but the Stingers loaded the bases in their final at bat, scored the tying run on a fielder's choice and the game-winner on a wild pitch.

The Stingers play host to Duluth at 7:05 p.m. Saturday in the first of a two-game set.

The Stingers struck first on Friday on Richie Garcia's RBI single in the second.

Waterloo's Deion Thompson drove in two runs in the third with a double, and the Stingers tied the game in the fourth on another Waterloo bungle.

Jaxon Hallmark reached on a dropped third strike, took second on a Bucks error, advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on Davis Elliot's sacrifice fly.

Waterloo took a 3-2 lead on back-to-back doubles.

But in the bottom of the ninth, Tyler Reichenborn led off with a singles, Matt Rudick was hit by a pitch and Garcia singled to load the bases.

Nic Hernandez' fielder's choice tied the game and, with John Trousdale at bat, Rudick sped home with the winning run on another Bucks wild pitch.

Jake Marsh got the win in long relief, allowing just a run on four hits, no walks and striking out five in a six-inning stint.
