KERKHOVEN - Tri-Town methodically piled up runs to support three pitchers in a 9-1 victory over K-Town on Thursday.

David Kingery had three hits, including two doubles, drove in a run and scored twice. Kingery also got the start, working five innings and allowing an unearned run and striking out four.

Josh Kingery got the win, working the middle three innings and allowing just a hit and striking out four. Noah Cunningham worked a scoreless seventh inning.

Tri-Town's Jordan Schumacher had two hits, including a double, drove in a run and score two runs. Josh Kinzler had two hits and scored a run, Jaren Kaddatz singled in a run and Noah Cunningham had a hit and scored twice.

K-Town's Weston Gjerde and Dylan Rudningen both had two hits and Gjerde scored his team's lone run.

Litchfield's Afton Kaping spun a four-hit gem, shutting out Eden Valley-Watkins in a 3-0 win.

Litchfield scattered three runs in separate innings and both Afton and Ezra Kaping finished with doubles in the ball game. Owen Boerema led Litchfield with a pair of hits, including a double.

Caden Bjornjeld and Korbin Kells drove in a combined seven runs as Madison cruised Canby Thursday night.

Braiden Kittelson tossed all six innings, allowing just two Canby hits for the win.

Madison will take next week off and play a doubleheader against Minneota in Madison July 9.

Granite Falls 3, Montevideo 1

Granite Falls scored three runs in the fifth inning to top Montevideo in a quick, well-pitched game Thursday night.

Montevideo took the early 1-0 lead but Granite Falls logged three of their four hits in the fifth inning for the win. Nick Lindstrom drove in two of those runs.

Blaine Sederstrom led Montevideo with a pair of hits and a run scored.

Both teams will play this weekend in Montevideo's tournament, also featuring Benson and New London-Spicer, in addition to Dakota Valley from Sioux City, South Dakota, Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton, Osakis and Walker-Nevis. The tournament gets going at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Matt Ornelas was unhittable in his five inning start for the Stingers Thursday night and Willmar provided the offensive support in an 8-2 victory to snap a losing skid.

Eli Wilson was the offensive catalyst with a pair of hits, including a home run, with two RBIs and three runs scored.

The Stingers play a second game at Eau Claire at 7:05 p.m. Friday, then play a home-and-home series with St. Cloud. Willmar plays at St. Cloud at 6:05 p.m. Saturday and the Stingers play host to the Rox at 6:05 p.m. Sunday at Bill Taunton Stadium.

Statistics for Lac qui Parle Valley pitcher and second baseman Haley Wollschlager in the Tribune All-Area Softball Team, printed in Wednesday's Tribune, were incomplete. Wollschlager posted a 2.22 ERA and struck out 179 batters in 104 innings, which meant she struck out 57.3 percent of the batters she faced. She tossed seven shutouts and walked just 26 batters for the Eagles. At the plate, Wollschlager hit .420 on 38 hits, including nine doubles, four triples and a home run. She scored 38 times and stole 23 bases.
