WILLMAR - Jayden Dierenfeld and Caleb Owens combined to shutout Sauk Centre in a 3-0 Willmar Legion Post 167 win Monday night at Bill Taunton Stadium.

Dierenfeld struck out seven while scattering six hits across four scoreless innings of work to earn the win before he gave way to Caleb Owens. Owens struck out three batters in three hitless innings for the save.

Jon Broman got the hitting going with a leadoff triple in the second inning and came around to score on a Jack Baumgart double on the ensuing pitch to take an early 1-0 lead. Gunnar Banks followed up with a single to score Baumgart and double the lead.

Alex Backes drove in Andy Schultz in the sixth inning for the game's only other run.

Brandon Rasmusson threw a no-hitter and his teammates helped him at the plate, topping Benson 10-0 Monday.

Kerkhoven scored in every inning and featured a particularly strong performance from Kyle Meyer, who went 2-for-2 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored as the team's No. 9 hitter.

Rasmusson threw an efficient no-hitter, allowing just one walk with five strikeouts in his 70-pitch performance.

Jaren Kaddatz unleashed an offensive onslaught, with four hits, including a double and two triples, as Tri-Town defeated Eden Valley-Watkins.

Kaddatz drove in three runs and scored four times to lead the Blacksox offensively and he paved the way on the mound for Josh Kinzler who threw four powerful innings in relief for the win. He struck out seven and kept Eden Valley-Watkins off the board.

Jonathan McKinney and Nick Mears combined on a pitching gem as the Willmar Stingers won their third-straight game and swept Bismarck in a two-game series on Monday.

McKinney allowed a run on three hits over seven innings and he struck out 12 Larks. Mears got the save, allowing three hits and striking out two in two innings.

Matt Rudick tripled in Cal Elvers with the game's first run and Rudick scored the Stingers' other run when Eli Wilson drew a bases-loaded walk.

The Stingers return home for four games, beginning with Rochester at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday. The Stingers play host to two games against the Honkers, then have Waterloo in town on Thursday and Friday. All four games start at 7:05 p.m.
