MAPLE LAKE — Adam Nibaur threw a complete-game two-hitter and Adam Schrader hit a pair of doubles for New London-Spicer, pushing the Twins into the second round of the Class C state tournament with a 2-0 victory over the Howard Lake Orphans Friday in Maple Lake.

NLS’s first run came in the bottom of the first inning on an RBI double from Schrader, who went 2-for-4 for the night.

An insurance run came in the bottom of the sixth when Wyatt White scored on a ground out by John Perkins.

While the Twins’ offense put together a pair of runs on eight hits, Nibaur racked up six strikeouts with no walks and just two hits allowed: a leadoff single by Brad Bickmann in the fifth and a Steve Boger single in the seventh.

With the victory, NLS will face Region 1 champion Mora at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 25 in Delano
