SPICER — Leading 2-0 through six innings, New London-Spicer tallied four runs in the bottom of the seventh to secure the County Line League’s top seed in the Region 4C tournament following a 7-1 victory Sunday at Green Lake Diamonds.
After Scott Rambow drew a one-out walk in the seventh, Dalton Rambow put the Twins ahead 4-0 with a two-run home run to left-center. NLS tacked on two more runs in the inning as Wyatt White scored on a grounder while Josh Soine crossed home after an error.
Dalton went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs for the Twins. Mike Danielson was 2-for-5 and Scott scored twice. On the mound, Adam Nibaur locked up the win for NLS after seven innings of work.
Michael Gruber and Darion Alexander, the Stars’ Nos. 1 and 2 hitters, both went 3-for-4, with Gruber scoring the team’s lone run. Aaron Ver Steeg was hit with the loss after striking out five in five innings of work.
Saturday at the Region 4C tournament in Starbuck, NLS will face Bird Island, the No. 4 seed from the Corn Belt League at 10 a.m. Starbuck faces the Corn Belt’s No. 3 seed, Marshall, at 3 p.m.

Starbuck edged its way into the County Line League playoff final with a come-from-behind victory over Regal early Sunday afternoon at Green Lake Diamonds in Spicer.
Down 6-3 after six innings, the Stars tied the game with a three-run top of the seventh. Then with two outs in the eighth, Aaron Ver Steeg started a string of three straight Starbuck singles. Michael Gruber put Ver Steeg in scoring position with a hit, and Darion Alexander brought in the go-ahead run with a base knock of his own.
Gruber finished 4-for-4 with a double and three runs scored, and was the winning pitcher after tossing three innings of relief. Alexander was 3-for-4 with a double, a run and two RBIs while Ver Steeg went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored. Austin Ver Steeg picked up the save after holding the Eagles hitless in the bottom of the ninth.
Chris Beier was 3-for-5 with a run and an RBI while Josh Beier, Nathan Meyer and Shane Radermacher each collected two hits in the loss. Sam Oehrlein was hit with the loss after tossing eight innings.
The No. 3 seed out of the County Line, Regal will open the Region 4C tournament at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Starbuck against Raymond, the No. 2 seed out of the Corn Belt League.

With a spot in the Region 4C tournament on the line, Sacred Heart secured the No. 5 seed from the Corn Belt League after beating Granite Falls.
Tied 2-2 after six innings, the Saints went ahead for good after a bases-loaded walk by Mike Kuschel brought home Ryan Hebrink. Nate Hebrink scored one batter later on a fielder’s choice.
Tyler Froland led Sacred Heart’s offense, going 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and an RBI. Picking up the win for the Saints was Jeremy Hinderks, who struck out eight in a complete game.
Out-hitting Sacred Heart 13-6, Cam Vien was the Kilowatts’ top batter, going 3-for-4 with a double, a walk and a run scored. Tyler Dammann, Cole Richter and Kyle TeBeest each came up with two hits for Granite Falls while Dalton Anderson was hit with the loss after six innings of work.
