NEW YORK MILLS — Scoring six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, Ashby put the 10-run rule into effect, beating Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg in a Section 6A elimination game at New York Mills.
With the win, the Arrows advanced to the Section 6A championship against New York Mills. The Eagles went on to win that game, 6-3, and secure the section championship.
Wylee Lottman was 2-for-2 for the Fighting Saints, hitting a solo home run to lead off the game. He also started the game, tossing four innings.
Isaac Call was 3-for-3 with a double for KMS. Isaac Rudningen finished 2-for-3 with a pair of stolen bases.
The Arrows were led by the bat of Torin Olson, who was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored. He hit a solo home run to lead off the bottom of the fourth.
The Fighting Saints end the season with a 19-2 record.

Springfield 4, BOLD 1
Springfield got the cushion it needed to claim the Section 2A championship with a victory over BOLD at ISG Field in Mankato. The Tigers scored three runs in the top of the third inning.
Mason Leonard drove in a pair of runs with an RBI single. Brenden Buerkle reached home on an error to put the Tigers ahead.
On the mound, Jakob Nachreiner threw six innings, striking out four in the win. Tori Helget threw a scoreless seventh to get the save and send the Tigers to state for the 11th time and for the first time since 2016.
Braeden Tersteeg was 2-for-4 with a double to lead the Warriors. Aidan Elfering had an RBI single in the first inning that scored Avery Herdina. Zeke Walton was hit with the loss after striking out five with four hits and three walks allowed. None of the three runs Walton allowed were earned.
BOLD wraps up the 2021 season with a 20-7 record.

Elfering allowed two hits and no walks, striking out 12. He was also 1-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored. Eli Walton was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI for the Warriors.

Adrian’s Evan Lenz drew a walkoff bases-loaded walk to send Adrian to the Class A state tournament with a win over Yellow Medicine East in the Section 3A championship at Yankee Field in Milroy.
The Dragons make their sixth state appearance and their first since 2016.
Marshall Wagner finished 2-for-3 with a run for the Dragons. Lenz was 1-for-3 with a run, an RBI and a stolen base. Quenten Wolf struck out six in four innings of relief to get the win.
Caleb Jans was the Sting’s top hitter, going 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Nikson Knapper was 1-for-2 with two RBIs and a stolen base, and Nolan Hildahl was 1-for-3 with a run scored. Ty Schulte took the loss despite striking out 11 over 4-2/3 innings in relief.
YME ends the season at 18-8.
