MANKATO — Alex Baeza drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the 10th inning for the game-winning run in the Mankato MoonDogs’ 6-5 Northwoods League victory over the Willmar Stingers on Tuesday at ISG Field.

Baeza, a redshirt junior from Hawaii, finished 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI as the MoonDogs had 11 hits. Jacob Wilson, Matthew Higgins and Evan Berkey each had two hits for Mankato, with Higgins swatting a pair of doubles.

Vince Reilly, a sophomore from Grand Canyon University in Arizona, got the win after tossing two innings of relief with three strikeouts, one walk and no hits or runs allowed.

The Stingers had five hits, with two coming from Western Carolina redshirt junior Daniel Walsh. Walsh was 2-for-4 with a two-run double as part of a four-run seventh inning for Willmar. Also in that inning, Grant Kerry and Walsh both scored on groundouts.

Wyatt Wendell, an Indian Hills Community College redshirt sophomore, started the game for Willmar. He tossed five innings, striking out four in the no-decision. Kenten Egbert was hit with the loss.

Willmar has a day-night doubleheader Wednesday in St. Cloud. The Stingers and Rox play at 1:05 p.m. at Joe Faber Field, then play again at 7:05 p.m. at Faber.
