KERKHOVEN — Yellow Medicine East increased its win streak to eight games after going on the road and knocking off Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 61-54 in Camden Conference play Thursday.

Madison Hinz was a pest on the perimeter for the Sting, scoring 20 points, with four 3-pointers, along with seven steals on defense. Hannah Gullickson had a YME-best 21 points along with seven rebounds, and Mackenzie Dyrdahl came up with 14 points and eight boards. Meeghen Dahlager dished out 10 assists in the victory.

Maret Gjerde led the Saints with 15 points and three steals, followed by 11 points and six rebounds from Madison Rohner and nine points apiece from Mallory Rudningen and Morgan Lesteberg.

In a key Camden Conference and Section 3A matchup, Minneota was able to give Lac qui Parle Valley its second loss of the year Thursday as the Vikings came away with a 65-51 win.

"They went on a little run three or four minutes in the second half," said Eagles head coach John Nolte. "I'd have to look back at the film to see if it was tired legs or what was going on. We were struggling to score and we didn't answer with a run of our own."

Haley Wollschlager had a team-high 23 points along with four assists and three steals for LQPV. Grace Hegland secured a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Minneota's Morgan Hennen led all scorers with 24 points, followed by 18 from Lydia Sussner.

The Eagles will try to get back in the win column on Saturday when they travel to Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall to play Murray County Central.
