WILLMAR — The Willmar girls basketball team used a strong second half to put away St. Cloud Cathedral, 51-35 Tuesday night at the Big Red Gym.

The Cardinals led 21-20 at halftime, but out-scored the Crusaders 3-15 in the final 18 minutes for the victory in the nightcap of a boys-girls doubleheader.

Willmar was led by McKenzie Jones’ 19 points, which included four 3-pointers. Ashley Prahl had 10 points and nine rebounds for the Cardinals.

For Cathedral, Charita Lewis had 15 points.
