WABASSO — The MACCRAY boys basketball team cracked the 100-point mark in a game for the first time in nearly three years after thrashing the Wabasso Rabbits, 100-72 Monday night.

Ten players entered the scorebook for the Wolverines, led by Brady Kienitz’s 29 points. The junior guard nailed 11 of his 19 attempts from the floor, including five makes from three-point territory. On 9-for-15 shooting, fellow junior Blake Wadsworth added 27 points and seven assists.

The program last reached the century mark on Feb. 6, 2017 during a 102-72 road win against Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City.

Improving to 13-3 this season, MACCRAY plays at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Minneota.

Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg moved to .500 in the new year following an 80-39 non-conference win against Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley in Kerkhoven.

The Fighting Saints were led by Alex Call, who hit six 3-pointers on the way to a game-high 32 points. Gage Thorson followed up with 11 points.

The Wolverines had 13 points each from Cole Gilsdorf and Chuck Kleindl.

KMS will host Yellow Medicine East on Tuesday.

Down by 10 with three minutes to play, Dawson-Boyd managed to tie Monday’s game with Pipestone, eventually coming away with the non-conference victory.

Romell Horton led the Blackjacks with 23 points, five steals and four assists while Zach Durfee added 18 points, 14 rebounds and four blocks.

Dawson-Boyd will host Canby on Tuesday.

Sophomore center Matt Thompson had 24 points and 11 rebounds to help lead Hancock to the victory at Rothsay.

Preston Rohloff added 11 points and Daniel Milander had nine points, eight assists and five steals for the Owls.

Colby Larson had 14 points, Sam Danielson 12 and Tanner Heier 11 to lead the Tigers.
