WATERTOWN — Tied 26-26 on the road against Watertown-Mayer, the New London-Spicer girls basketball created distance in the second half to capture a 60-51 victory Friday night.

With the victory, the Wildcats were crowned the Wright County-West Conference champions.

Emma Hanson led the visitors with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Ava Kraemer joined Hanson on the double-double front, scoring 10 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.

Erin Knisley added nine points, 11 rebounds and a pair of blocks. Mackenzie Rich had 14 points and eight assists.

Maggie Czinano had a game-high 21 points for the home team.

Improving its record to 22-1, NLS hosts Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
