COTTONWOOD — The Central Minnesota Christian Bluejays can add another line on their 2019-20 boys basketball resume.

They beat Lakeview 79-63 to win the overall Camden Conference championship.

CMCS, which won the Camden North Division title with a 14-2 record, beat Lakeview, which won the Camden South with an 11-5 mark.

It’s the Bluejays’ first overall Camden Conference since 2017, when they beat Russell-Tyler-Ruthton 69-51 on their way to a sixth-place finish in the state Class A tournament. Tuesday also was the first time CMCS played in the overall championship since then.

Sophomore guard Case Mulder led the Bluejays with 27 points. Senior guard Peter Martin had 12 points and four assists and sophomore forward Ben Van Eps added 11 points. Senior forward Austin TeBrake had 10 rebounds, three steals and two blocks for CMCS, which now heads to the Section 3A North playoffs.

The top-seeded Bluejays play the winner of No. 8 Wabasso and No. 9 Canby at 11 a.m. Saturday in Montevideo. The Rabbits and Lancers play at 7 p.m. Thursday in Wabasso in the play-in game.
