ST. PAUL — The Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa volleyball team earned a hard-fought victory Friday at the state Class A volleyball tournament.
The Jaguars beat Henning 3-2 in the consolation semifinals at the Xcel Energy Center. BBE won 26-24, 24-26, 18-25, 25-15, 15-12.
Brittany Berge had 16 kills to lead BBE. Grace Illies and Ava Mueller each added 11 and Brooke Deters and Karissa Jones contributed seven apiece.
Junior setter Karsee Kampsen had 45 assists for the Jaguars. Emily Kern had 33 digs and Kylie Winter had three service aces..
BBE (24-9) plays Greenway (27-5) for the consolation championship at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Xcel Energy Center. Greenway beat fourth-seeded Mounds Park Academy 25-20, 20-25, 25-10, 25-22 to advance.

In the championship semifinals, No. 1 Minneota beat No. 5 Fosston 23-25, 25-14, 25-7, 25-10. And, No. 2 Waterville-Elysian-Morristown beat No. 3 Medford 25-21, 25-20, 25-20.
Minneota plays W-E-M for the state Class A title at 1 p.m. Fosston and Medford meet for third place at 11 a.m.
