RENVILLE -- BOLD bolted to a 35-20 halftime lead and never looked back en route to a 74-42 non-conference triumph over Renville County West in a boys basketball opener for each team on Tuesday.
Kyle Athmann scored a game-high 21 points for the Warriors. Kyle Krause added 12 points and Phillip Marks and Adam Steffel had 10 apiece. Brandon Ochs pulled down 11 rebounds to go along with 8 points. Zach Remillard had nine points and three steals.
Ryan Fransen led RCW with 12 points, all on three-pointers. He also had 13 rebounds, four blocks and two steals. Isaac Engstrom contributed 10 points and Steve Jakel had eight points and 12 rebounds.
BOLD led in rebounds by a 49-35 margin.
