It was a new opponent but a similar result for BOLD as they blew out fifth-seeded Canby in Olivia Saturday afternoon 46-0.

The Warriors proved once again why they are the top-seed in the Section 5A tournament, scoring 29 points in the first quarter.

Senior running back Austin Einerson starred early on, scoring three touchdowns on his first five carries. He finished the game with nine carries for 143.

BOLD offensive coordinator Darren Sagedahl was also quick to point out that the defense was key to those first few touchdowns.

"Getting those turnovers early on was huge," Sagedahl said. "It put us in a good spot on the field and really put us up early."

BOLD's defense was overwhelming all day but was the most impressive in that first quarter with a pair of interceptions and a fumble recovery. Dawson Vosika contributed to the scoring in the first quarter with an interception returned 33 yards for a touchdown.

Warrior quarterback Jordan Sagedahl got in on the action as well, throwing for a pair of long touchdowns to Gavin Vosika and Jack Peppel. He finished with 96 passing yards and completed both of his passes on the day for touchdowns.

"It's tough to tell on film how physical a team will be but we knew that Canby was going to be a physical team just with the way they played Minneota this year," Sagedahl said. "It was nice to see that our team came out and we beat them physically. It was a good win, we're happy with it."

The win sets up a meeting in the section finals with third-seeded Wabasso who upset Minneota and ended the Vikings' quest for a second straight State tournament. The Warriors will take on the Rabbits at 2 p.m. on Friday at Southwest Minnesota State in Marshall.
