BOLD upends ACGC

OLIVIA -- Brent O'Halloran ran for 219 yards and Alex Steffel gained another 117 yards on the ground to help BOLD pick up its first win of the season as the Warriors upended winless Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City 41-6 Friday in a West Central South Conference game.

BOLD scored on three of its first four offensive possessions and also had Logan Erickson return a punt 47 yards for another touchdown. O'Halloran capped short drives in the second quarter with runs covering 62 and 64 yards. The junior added a 28-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.

Sophomore quarterback Kyle Athmann opened the scoring with a six-yard pass to Tyler Hebrink and had a hand in the last score as he fired a 23-yard TD pass to Michael Kingstrom in the fourth quarter.

The Falcons, who didn't gain a first down until the second-to-last play of the second quarter as they had to punt on their first six possessions, got their only score in the fourth quarter when Erik Whitcomb found the end zone on a 25-yard run.
