ST. PAUL -- BOLD's run in the Class A state volleyball tournament came to an end Friday with a straight-set loss to Mayer Lutheran in the consolation semifinals at the Xcel Energy Center.
Mayer Lutheran won 25-12, 25-9, 25-22.
BOLD, the West Central South and Section 2A champions, finished 21-10.
Tyann Caspers led the Warriors with 10 kills, a block ace and 5 digs. Nikki Neisen contributed 5 kills and an ace block and Mallarie Steffel and Baylie Kubesh both had 4 kills.
Setters Samantha Luepke and Kubesh were perfect on 32 sets and combined for 21 assists.

Mayer Lutheran's Nico Schmidt had 15 kills and Taylor Rollo had 11. Rollo also had 2 ace blocks, and setter Ashlyn Hucky was good on 30 of 31 sets and had 28 assists.
