Boys Basketball: BBE wins 32nd straight CMC game

BROOTEN - The top-ranked Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Jaguars won their 32nd straight Central Minnesota Conference game on Friday, downing Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted 78-67.

BROOTEN - The top-ranked Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Jaguars won their 32nd straight Central Minnesota Conference game on Friday, downing Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted 78-67.

The Jaguars improved to 13-0 overall and 5-0 in the CMC. After a Tuesday game against Osakis, BBE plays what could be the game to decide the CMC title against Pierz on Thursday in Brooten.

On Friday, Connor Goodwin scored 25 points and pulled down 15 rebounds while Billy Borderding sank all four of BBE's 3-point shots and finished with 17 points. Kirby Montbriand also scored 17 points and Brian Goodwin had 12 points and 10 assists.

Non-conference

Sauk Centre 68, ACGC 60

Nick Adams scored 24 points to lead the Mainstreeters at home. Adams, a 6-foot-5 junior center, also yanked down 14 rebounds.

The Falcons cut the Sauk Centre lead to one point with just over a minute to play, but they had to foul and the Mainstreeters hit their free throws to pull away. Sauk Centre made 8 of 10 foul shots in the second half.

Trever Heining scored 20 points and Dylan Hoerchler had 13 for ACGC. Jacob Belgum added 12, and Logan Jacobs had 9 points and 8 rebounds.

Henning 66, Hancock 53

Collin Deague led all scorers with 28 points to help Henning improve to 9-4 overall.

Jordan Miller scored 21 points and Jerrid Jepma hit five 3-pointers and finished with 15 points for the Owls (4-7). Taylor Holleman had 9 rebounds and 5 assists.
