Boys basketball: Benson spoils BOLD season opener

BIRD ISLAND -- It was a disappointing start to the season for the BOLD Warriors as they fell to Benson 63-46 on Friday in a West Central Conference game.

BIRD ISLAND - It was a disappointing start to the season for the BOLD Warriors as they fell to Benson 63-46 on Friday in a West Central Conference game.
Adam Lindahl dropped in a game-high 21 points and Aaron Ahrndt chipped in 16 points and four assists for the Braves.
BOLD shot a cold 34 percent from the floor, while allowing the visitors to shoot a respectable 49 percent.
Nick Kubesh had 12 points and Ethan Weis added eight points and seven rebounds for the Warriors.
Benson plays Melrose next Tuesday and BOLD will seek to win its first game of the early season against Paynesville on the same date.
