Tristan Thompson had a game-high 17 points for the Wildcats, who otherwise relied on a bevy of scorers to improve to 8-7.
NLS led by five points at halftime and hung on from there, outscoring the Royals by one point over the final 18 minutes.
The Wildcats shot 46.2 percent from the field and had 1.16 points per possession in the victory.
NLS returns to action in a Section 3AA matchup with Redwood Valley on Saturday in Marshall.
