Boys Basketball: BLHS thumps RCW, 83-50

HECTOR -- Ben Maiers scored 20 points to lead 10 Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart players in an 83-50 win over Renville County West in a non-conference boys basketball game Tuesday.

Maiers made all four of the Mustangs' three-pointers. Cole Witter scored 17 points, Mason Clark 11 and Brandon Huls 10. Clark had eight rebounds.

Isaac Engstrom tallied 19 points and nine rebounds to pace the Jaguars. Ryan Fransen added 16 points and nine boards.

The Jaguars, now 23-0, rolled to a 57-21 lead by intermission. Kevin Kuefler had 22 points by halftime and went out with 24. Brady Koehler scored 13 of his 15 points in the first half.

The Jaguars shot 56 percent from the floor and made 22 of 26 at the line (85 percent). The BLHS rebound advantage was 33-15.

Riley Wilson of Wheaton/Herman-Norcross led all scorers with 27 points.
