GRANITE FALLS - A balanced attack and solid defense helped Canby down Yellow Medicine East 45-39 on Monday at YME High School.

Eight Lancers scored, led by Blake Mercer with 12 points. Zach Durfee had nine points and six rebounds.

YME's Trent Skjefte and Dalton Anderson both scored eight points and Bennett Knapper, Carter Sneller both scored seven points. But Canby limited the Sting to 34 percent shooting from the field.

YME plays at Tracy-Milroy-Balaton at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
