WILLMAR - Willmar snapped a nine-game losing streak with a 72-54 victory over Montevideo on Saturday.
Three Cardinals reached double-digit scoring, led by Noah Slagter’s 19 points.
Tate Hovland picked up 12 points and Max Doering 11.
Hovland pulled down seven rebounds, and Dakota Tjaden added seven points and six assists.
Willmar led by five points at the half, and clung to just a one-point lead with 9:30 left in the game. But they pulled ahead and outscored the T-Hawks by 13 points in the second half.
It was just the third win of the year for the Cardinals, who next play Tuesday at Rocori. Their previous two wins came Dec. 26 and 27 at the Bremer Bank Holiday Classic.
