Boys Basketball: CMCS' Daugherty scores 1,000th point in 74-52 win

PRINSBURG -- Jordon Daugherty of Central Minnesota Christian sank two free throws with 35 seconds left to reach 1,000 career points and help lead the Bluejays to a 74-52 Camden North Conference boys basketball win over Renville County West Tuesday.

Daugherty, a senior, scored 21 points to become the fourth player in school history -- boys and girls -- to reach 1,000 points. The game was stopped and he was given a game ball.

Logan Erickson led CMCS (3-4, 4-5) with 22 points, five assists and five steals. Brett Jouwstra added 14 points and eight rebounds. Daugherty also had 10 boards.

Dan Knapper of the Jaguars (1-6, 2-10) led all scorers with 25 points. He also pulled down 11 rebounds.

MACCRAY 83, Dawson-Boyd 58

Dawson-Boyd took an early nine-point lead in the first half, but MACCRAY picked away and Dylan Aeiken's steal and basket at the first-half buzzer forced a 37-37 tie.

The Wolverines rode that momentum to start the second half, scoring the first eight points and never looking back.

Seth Hinrichs paced MACCRAY with 27 points. Shaun Condon followed with 25 and Aeikens had 11.

Kruiz Lindblad scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Blackjacks. Matt Anderson had 15 points.
