TYLER -- Taylor Freetly scored 25 points and eclipsed the 1,000-point mark of his prep career to lead Kerhkoven-Murdock-Sunburg to a 76-63 win over Russell-Tyler-Ruthton in Camden Conference boys basketball action Tuesday.
Freetly, who needed 12 points to reach the milestone, made it in the first half with 11 seconds left. The game was stopped and Freetly was given a game ball. He finished the game with 1,013 career points. The Fighting Saints (10-4, 15-6) held a 35-29 lead at halftime.
Freetly also grabbed nine rebounds and had three blocked shots. Cole Berget added 11 points, and Andy Yost and Adam Miller had 10 points apiece. Jake Armstrong dished out seven assists.
