Boys Basketball: 'Jacks' Husby hits game-winner at buzzer

RENVILLE -- Colton Husby drilled a two-pointer as time expired to top Renville County West 63-61 and clinch the North Division title in the Camden Conference Friday night.

RENVILLE - Colton Husby drilled a two-pointer as time expired to top Renville County West 63-61 and clinch the North Division title in the Camden Conference Friday night.

Husby finished the night with six points but it was his final two points that proved to be most crucial. Teammate Bentley Boike did most of the scoring work with 24 points, finishing just two rebounds shy of a double-double as well.

RCW held a 24-23 halftime lead thanks to strong work from a quartet of scorers. Nathan Serbus led the Jaguars with 16 points and 11 rebounds, followed by Riley Ashburn's 15 points, Justin Schrupp's 12 points, and Tony Froland's 10 points.

Willmar 74, SC Apollo 62

Willmar pulled away late on Friday night to remain undefeated with a win over Saint Cloud Apollo.

Noah Slagter scored 30 points to lead the way for the Cardinals, and Ryan Slette scored 21 points to put Willmar over the top.

The Cardinals will look to go to 20-0 on Saturday against Montevideo.
