PRINSBURG -- Cole Berget eclipsed the 1,000-point mark in his prep career and helped Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg beat Central Minnesota Christian 87-81 in a Camden North Conference boys basketball game Friday.
Berget, who needed 10 points to reach the milestone, did so with about 5:50 left in the first half on an inside post move. The game was stopped and he was presented with a ball.
The Fighting Saints (6-5, 7-9) went on to take a 46-41 halftime lead.
Jake Armstrong scored 23 points, including six 3-pointers, to lead KMS. Bryan Schlagel scored a season-high 20 points, Berget finished with 17 points -- he now had 1,007 overall -- and 13 rebounds, and Mark Beckman had 13 points.
Jordon Daugherty's 20 points paced the Bluejays. Logan Erickson followed with 18 points and seven assists, Tyler Daugherty had 14 points and Brett Jouwstra had 10. David Vanderhooft pulled down eight boards.

The unbeaten Wolverines (11-0, 16-0) shot a torrid 55 percent in the first half en route to building a 57-18 lead and never looking back.

Matt Anderson led a group of four players that scored in double figures for Dawson-Boyd (8-5, 10-5) with 21 points as Kruiz Lindblad followed with 15 and Zach Stelter and Andrew Roiger both added 11.
Dan Knapper was a point shy of getting a double-double for Renville County West after collecting nine points and 10 rebounds. Evan Engstrom also hooked 10 boards for the Jaguars (1-9, 2-14).
