MADISON -- Eric Paulson and Jacob Redepenning each scored 14 points to help Lac qui Parle Valley overcome Ortonville 62-59 in the first round of the LQPV Invite Monday.
Eight players scored for the Eagles to offset the Trojans' sharpshooting trio of Trent Kuechenmeister with 25, Dan Berdan with 18 and Shane Lindahl with 10.
The game was close all the way with the Eagles up 31-30 at halftime. The Trojans had a chance just before the final horn but turned the ball over.
Zach Jensen added 10 points for LQPV and Redepenning hooked a dozen rebounds.
The Eagles will face either Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley or Minneota in the championship game at 7:30 p.m. today.
