MINNEOTA -- Some missed opportunities in the first half hurt Minneota down the stretch as MACCRAY remained unbeaten by edging the Vikings 71-65 in the Camden Interconference Championship Friday.
Minneota (17-5) had a slim lead midway through the first half, but MACCRAY (24-0) pulled ahead while the Vikings missed some layups. The Class A top-ranked Wolverines went into halftime up 41-32.
Shaun Condon paced a group of four players that scored in double figures for MACCRAY with 21 points. Seth Hinrichs followed with 14, Dylan Aeikens 13 and Caleb Hanson 11.
Both teams shot around 50 percent from the field, but MACCRAY was 19-for-23 from the free-throw line while Minneota was only 11-for-18. The Vikings got as close as four late in the game, but the Wolverines sealed the win at the charity stripe.
Will Kurka had 21 points and Shane Hennen and Tony Noyes both added another 12 each to lead the Vikings' offense.

MACCRAY had also beaten the Vikings 74-58 Feb. 16 in Clara City. That was the smallest margin of victory on the season for the Wolverines before Friday's six-point win.

Up by one at halftime, 26-25, Shane Bosek and Jake Mikkelson led a 42-point second-half surge to spill the Dutchmen.

Bosek pumped in 12 of his 21 points and Mikkelson notched 13 of his 16 in the second half. The Lakers (16-6) led by as many as 16 after intermission. Mike Whittemore also reached double figures with 11. Bosek also grabbed nine rebounds.
Carter Sawyer with 14 points and Jordan Primus with 13 led the Melrose (12-10) attack.
