Boys Basketball: Montevideo keeps pace in West Central South

MONTEVIDEO -- Montevideo made a 29-18 halftime lead stand tall en route to a 60-39 win over BOLD in West Central South Conference boys basketball action Thursday.

The Thunder Hawks (9-9) improved to 8-3 in the conference, in third place behind Morris/Chokio-Alberta and Minnewaska.

Jake Douglas scored 19 points to pave the way for Montevideo. Colton Vien and Brett Bergeson added 12 points and seven rebounds apiece.

Shawn Dollerschell's 11 points led the Warriors (2-8, 8-9). Tyler Hebrink added 10 points and seven boards.

A balanced scoring attack guided Minnewaska (10-1, 12-3) to its seventh straight win. Shane Bosek and Ben Peters both scored 15 points with Brady Johnsrud adding 13.

Brennan Kent had 20 points and Cody Jaeger followed with 11 to pace Benson (5-6, 10-9).

After being held to just two points in the first half, Eric Paulson erupted for 18 points in the second half behind five 3-pointers to help Lac qui Parle Valley rally from an 11-point deficit at halftime. The Eagles opened the second half with a 12-2 run to get back into the game.

Ryan Hoium, Jordan Schwarz and Zach Jensen all added 10 points apiece for the Eagles.

Tim Masse netted a game-high 22 points and pulled down 13 rebounds for Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City, which also got 17 points from Trever Heining and 14 more from Mitchell Tauer.
