Boys Basketball: NLS gets last-minute win

NEW LONDON - It took until 13.7 seconds remaining in the second half and a Derrick Laudenbach score underneath to give New London-Spicer their first lead of the night and a 59-58 win over Litchfield on Friday.
After a timeout, Litchfield’s Cody Beavers had a 3-point shot go off the mark as the Wildcats held on.
Ethan Bohlsen recorded a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds, Shane Zylstra scored 18 points, and Laudenbach added 12 in the victory.
The Dragons scored 39 first half points, but mustered just 19 after intermission.
Dylan Kotzer powered Litchfield with 19 points and Noah Kreger chipped in 11.
New London-Spicer will host Minnewaska next Thursday as section playoffs begin.

Sauk Centre ended its regular season on a 14-game winning streak, beating Holdingford in a non-conference game Friday.
Matthew Moritz scored 18 points and grabbed six rebounds, and Cole Neubert added 10 points and three steals.
The No. 1-seed Mainstreeters (21-4) will face No. 8-seed Osakis in the quarterfinals of the Section 6AA-North tournament on Feb. 28 at St. John’s.

Noah Kannegiesser scored 19 points, Colin Brown added 10, while Byrce Schmidgall chipped in six points and pulled down 10 rebounds as Hancock came back from a first half deficit to fend off Henning at home.
The Owls fell behind by six points at intermission, but held Henning to just 18 second half points.
Cort Ebeling led all scorers with 26 points in the loss.
Hancock has its first playoff game Monday at home against Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley at 7 p.m.
