NEW LONDON - It took until 13.7 seconds remaining in the second half and a Derrick Laudenbach score underneath to give New London-Spicer their first lead of the night and a 59-58 win over Litchfield on Friday.
After a timeout, Litchfield’s Cody Beavers had a 3-point shot go off the mark as the Wildcats held on.
Ethan Bohlsen recorded a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds, Shane Zylstra scored 18 points, and Laudenbach added 12 in the victory.
The Dragons scored 39 first half points, but mustered just 19 after intermission.
Dylan Kotzer powered Litchfield with 19 points and Noah Kreger chipped in 11.
New London-Spicer will host Minnewaska next Thursday as section playoffs begin.
