Boys basketball roundup: NLS downs Tigers

BROWERVILLE -- New London-Spicer got points from 12 players, led by Devin Fostervold's 18, and the Wildcats downed Browerville 78-57 on Saturday in a boys team and girls team doubleheader between the schools.

NLS cranked up the offense right out of the game, scoring 46 first-half points and taking an 18-point lead into halftime.
The Wildcats eased off a little in the second half and got plenty of players court time.
Shane Zylstra hit three 3-point shots and finished with 15 points and Jaden Hanson scored 10 points.
Ethan Bohlsen had six points and a game-high 11 rebounds, and Fostervold and James Magnuson both had six boards.
The Wildcats play next at Eden Valley-Watkins at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Michael Lee lived up to his billing as one of the area’s top players and if he and any of his Dawson-Boyd teammates felt any effects from a late start to their season, it certainly didn’t show on Saturday.
Lee scored 25 points and led the Blackjacks with eight rebounds, six assists and a pair of steals in a game played at Southwest Minnesota State in Marshall.
The Blackjacks were playing their first game of the season after the school’s trip to the Class A state football championship game forced them to delay the start of their hoops season.
Jess Hansen went for 17 points and Karson Lindblad and Noah Stelter both scored eight points.
The Blackjacks shot 65 percent from the floor and hit 7-of-11 from the 3-point line. They also his 11-of-13 free throws.

Central Minnesota Christian School broke the game open in the second half on Saturday.
Lucas Van Eps hit three 3-point shots and scored 20 points, and he also had three assists and six steals.
Austin Bulthuis had 13 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Taylor Slagter also his a 3-pointer and scored 14 points.
The Bluejays, now 3-0, play next against MACCRAY at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. The game is at Ridgewater College as CMCS completes work on a new gym.
