Boys Basketball: Wildcats cool off, fall to Annandale

NEW LONDON -- Still looking for a defining win this season, New London-Spicer entered the locker room at halftime with a lead against No. 9 Annandale, thanks in large part to 15 points from guard Brandon Adelman.

NEW LONDON - Still looking for a defining win this season, New London-Spicer entered the locker room at halftime with a lead against No. 9 Annandale, thanks in large part to 15 points from guard Brandon Adelman.

The Wildcats and Adelman cooled off in the second half, however, as the Cardinals came out with a 65-61 win.

Adelman and Brandyn Harlow both finished with 20 points for NLS, who dropped to .500 at 5-5 this season.

The Wildcats led 35-29 going into halftime after holding a lead as large as eight points earlier in the period

The Cardinals opened up the second half on a 9-3 run to draw even at 38-38. After the teams traded baskets to put NLS up 43-42, Annandale rattled off 11 of the next 13 points to take a 53-45 lead.

The Wildcats shot 63 percent from 2-point range, but hit just six of 27 3-point attempts on the night.

The BOLD freshman went 10-for-10 from the 3-point line to score 30 points in a 92-61 win over the Thunder Hawks.

According to the Minnesota State High School League website, Sagedahl tied the all-time state boys record for consecutive 3-pointers made in a game.

Gavin Vosika added 23 points and made five of six threes while recording a double-double with 10 assists.

The Warriors shot 17-for-25 from 3-point range as a team.

Jackson Snell had 22 points for Montevideo.

A trio of Hennens scored 76 points as Minneota cruised to victory over Renville County West.

Thomas Hennen led the way with 32 points, just ahead of Jacob Hennen's 27. Isaac Hennen rounded out the effort with 17 points.

Nathan Serbus dominated the boards for the Jaguars, pulling in 10 rebounds with 28 points. Riley Ashburn was hot from distance, too, with 22 points on 6-of-8 shooting.
